Founded January 2003 with one of the more committed identity bits in the scene, every member adopted a secondary handle starting with J. Avg became Jivanisevic, Enzo became Juan, Spear became John, Fever became Jamal, Smooth became Julio, Quasar became Johan ("/sven/hans/volvo"), Reanimator joined as Jinxed, Flame as Jihad. 27inch ran sharp and loud during 2003's quiet year, became a Blocktronics-era ancestor through avg and Misfit's later cross-affiliations, and gave way naturally as those bigger projects gathered steam.
